Source: First of all they never used to sell the things they sell today, they were the bottom of the barrel, they were the people you would go to at 3 in the morning with a gold bracelet to get some extra drug money. They never had anything really nice..oh sure I think they had a Super Bowl ring and maybe a couple of nice things, but nothing like it is now...everything changed once they went on television.
Russell Scott: What's it like going to their store?
Source: Well they never come out to the front unless it's time to film, they sit in the back..all four of them and sign page after page of autographs for $25 a pop to a line up of people. And everything you see on TV is fake, its all set up what the offer will be and whether or not they will buy it, its all a show...Sure they buy stuff, but its all determined well before the show after the studio interviews the people who want to go on the show...the people walking around the shop in the show are just extras.
Russell Scott: What is Rick Harrison like in real life?
Source: He's a good guy, he really is, probably the best guy out of the whole bunch...but lets be clear..its not his store,, it's the old man's store. I have nothing bad to say about Rick, he worked the family business and he's very knowledgeable

Source: He's a total prick. A miserable bastard that has never had anything nice to say to anyone, just a complete jerk. And he's cheap! He will screw you down to nothing and never takes a deal straight-up, he always wines and moans and gives you 10% of the value...Rick is much easier to negotiate with. Russell Scott: Is Chumlee really as dumb as he plays on the show? Source: Oh totally, he's a moron and a drunk. He's just an uneducated biker that hangs around that other goof Corey...big drinkers and they never worked the store either, that started when the show started...as I said it's all staged. Russell Scott: Are the "Pawn Stars" rich? Source: I think they have started buying up people's annuity payments and buying up insurance policy payments and such, they've made a lot of money, yeah they are quite rich now, but again it all started after the show and I say good for them. |
